Delicious cakes down the oddly-named deli
I drive past Delicachix every day on my way to work, and until I ventured inside my main thought was always what an odd name it has.
Now that I’ve made it over the threshold, however, I will be thinking of good coffee and tasty homemade cakes.

You won’t find air-dried Bayonne ham or Mediterranean confit tomatoes, but if you’re looking for a good selection of cooked meats or pies you’re in the right place.
You’ll also find friendly staff who will make up a sandwich in any combination you want.
I plumped for ham, tomato and coleslaw and got a very tasty sandwich, packed with filling.

And the slice of moist carrot cake, with a generous layer of icing on top, made me glad I’d yielded to temptation.
A generous cup of nice filter coffee went well with the cake and the whole lunch set me back a very reasonable £4.70.
I still don’t really understand this deli’s name, but I’ll definitely be back next time I need lunch on the go, or next time I fancy some good cake.
