Running until Saturday, at the Opera House, the ever popular stage version of the hit movie musical will see all the favourites including Edelweiss, My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi and of course the title song - The Sound of Music.
The performance marks a welcome change of form for former Coronation Street bad guy Frank Foster - as his real life persona Andrew Lancel takes on one of the most iconic roles in musical theatre: Captain von Trapp.

Hide AdAnd for Lucy O’Byrne who plays one of the best loved heroines in musical history Maria Rainer it’s a chance to join the von Trapps after a host of roles building up to the big one.
Fans of TV’s The Voice will recall her as last year’s runner up who was quickly snapped up by a record label and released her first album, aptly named Debut.
Lucy’s background is in musical theatre. She said: “My dad was a musical theatre performer, and is still a singer, my mum was a dancer, choreographer and director and my sister is an actress as well so I grew up doing musicals.”
The Sound of Music runs nightly with matinee shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Call the Opera House 0844 856 1111.
