A new recycling plant on the outskirts of Preston will help maximise the reuse of plastic from waste electrical appliances.
The facility, on the Roman Way Industrial Estate, has been given the go-ahead by Lancashire County Council’s development control committee.
It will separate items produced prior to 2009 – which could include hazardous waste materials known as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) – from more modern equipment.
