Firefighters were called to cut a lorry free after it became stuck on a narrow route, causing '˜traffic chaos' near Chorley town centre this afternoon (June 15).

Crews from Chorley fire station took specialist equipment to St Thomas’ Road, near Chorley police station, after the B&M bargains HGV became stuck between a wall, bollards and railings.

Crew manager Ian Turnbull said the driver had gone the wrong way due to a ‘Sat Nav failure’ near the junction of Crown Street and Market Street.
