See Breeze at Winter this autumn
The pioneering project, commissioned and produced by Lancaster-based Live at LICA, draws on research into the stories hidden within this cultural gem.
The iconic Victorian building overlooking Morecambe Bay was built in 1897 but forced to close after 80 years, creating fond memories for locals and visitors alike.

Hide AdWritten by Liverpool-based artists Jonathan Willow and Elizabeth Raisin, ‘‘Sea Breeze’ revives the memories of those who worked in and attended the famous theatre.
Using a combination of live performance and music from a local choir, Sea Breeze takes the audience on a tour of the site’s glorious past.
As stunning visual projections and original film illuminates lost corners of this eerie interior, intelligent stage design disturbs theatre convention. The audience sits on the same stage that once creaked under entertainment heavyweights like Dame Vera Lynn, while actors perform in the long abandoned stalls.
‘Sea Breeze’ is supported by Lancaster University, Arts Council England, Lancashire County Council, The Creative Exchange and visual specialists Imitating the Dog.
