13. The glory days of the stage have been recreated by students from a Leyland college in a nostalgic look at the 1920s and 30s. The students from Runshaw Tertiary College presented Gerswhin Cabaret, featuirng hits from the shows including I Got Rhythm and Summertime

14. Youngsters from a Leyland football team had plenty to shout about with the arrival of their new kit. Preston town crier and assistant team manager Mike Chapman was on hand to announce the arrival of the strip which will be worn with pride by the Leyland United Reformed Church cubs side
