33. Lune Street, Preston c.1957 Taken from Friargate looking towards the Public Hall. Pegrams grocers occupy the corner of Lune Street an Friargate. Next door is Singers Army Stores. Other than the facade of the Public Hall, this entire block was swept away to make room for the Ringway road scheme

34. Comissioning the new Roll on - Roll off ramp at Preston Dock c. 1956 A group of local dignitaries on the Ro-Ro ramp inspect the new purpose built equipment. This new ramp replaced the original pontoon ramp which once formed part of the WW2 Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches. The pontoon was brought to Preston from Southampton on board the Empire Cedric in 1948 when the Ferry Service was first inaugurated.
