A drug dealer who was found to have 900 wraps of Class A drugs and more than £7,200 in cash in his house has been sent to a young offender’s institution for 50 months.

Jack Tunstall, 20, of Salisbury Street, Preston, was arrested after his house was raided in May.

He was on licence from a previous sentence of 21 months for an affray at the time.

Sentencing him at Preston Crown Court, Judge Simon Medland QC said it was “quite a sophisticated enterprise” that Tunstall was helping to run.

He added: “It is my regrettable duty today to impose a substantial custodial sentence on a young man.

“You – better than any of us – know that Class A drugs destroy people’s lives.

“They corrode society, promote serious crime and destroy people’s health and well-being."

He added: “They have destroyed your life too because even though you are a young man, you know that I impose a severe sentence on you today.

“I must sentence you in accordance with the sentencing guidelines.

“Had you been a full adult, my starting point would have been seven years’ imprisonment.”

The court also ordered the forfeiture of £7,281 in cash that was found in a safe during the raid.
