Major congestion after car hits phone box
Commuters were facing traffic misery on Tuesday after a phone box was demolished by a car.
Police were called at 8.25am to Leyland Road in Penwortham, near the junction of New Lane, to reports that a black Nissan Almera had crashed into a phone box.
Officers said the driver didn’t have any serious injuries, but the phone box was “totally demolished”.
