Murder investigation launched in Preston
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Preston.
Police were called shortly after 2am today (Wednesday) to an address in Chatsworth Street in the Fishwick area.
On arrival a 42-year-old woman was found inside the house with a serious head injury. She was taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital where she later died.
A 52-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
Police are at the scene and have taped off a house. Enquiries are on-going.
