Longridge road closure after milk tanker topples lamppost in Berry Lane

A milk tanker crashed into a lamppost in Longridge this morning (Tuesday, January 3).

Fire crews closed Berry Lane at the roundabout with Derby Road and Inglewhite Road after the collision at around 9.15am.

The truck toppled the lamppost, plunging it into a shop front opposite The Forrest Arms pub. The truck also damaged a bollard on the pavement.

Lancashire Police said the collision was ‘damage-only’ and no injuries were reported.

Berry Lane was closed at the roundabout whilst Lancashire County Council’s highways maintenance team made the scene safe and carried out repairs.

The road reopened at around 10.40am.
