The couple’s romance started at Yates Wine Lodge when Simon was working the surf board – which is similar to a bucking bronco – and spotted Emma in her raver’s attire, she was quickly brought straight to the front of the queue.
She said: “Our first date was to the Black Bull and Simon was really nervous.
“What better to happen when you’re on your first date and nervous than your mates walking in.”

They went to their favourite restaurant and throughout the evening he kept dropping hints including listening to a special playlist of hits with wedding and marriage theme. When they got home, Simon handed Emma a gift of a book telling the story from start to the proposal.
Simon said: “She turned the last page and there was a picture of a ring box – and she said ‘that’s nice.’ All that effort and she didn’t get it.
“She put the book down and sat back in her chair.
“The penny finally dropped when I got on one knee and she said very romantically ‘course I bloody will you numpty!’
