Blades linked with defensive duo

Sheffield United are being linked with two left backs. One of those is free agent Sam McCallum, who was let go by Norwich City this summer. Our colleagues at the Sheffield Star report that the Blades are ‘closing in’ on the signing of the 23-year-old, who has played for Queens Park Rangers and Coventry City too.

However, there is also said to be interest in Peterborough United star Harrison Burrows - who was League One Player of the Year last season. Burrows, 22, provided 15 assists and scored six goals in his 47 league appearances. The Peterborough Telegraph reported that Burrows completed a medical last week and that terms have been agreed, ahead of a £2million move to Bramall Lane. But, the player has since been spotted in Posh training.

Midfielder to leave Hull City

Hull City midfielder Ozan Tufan is reportedly set to leave the club this summer and join Turkish club Trabzonspor. Journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu says that Tufan, 29, has passed a medical ahead of a reported £1.7m switch. The Tigers signed Tufan from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2022 - he has scored 18 goals in 84 outings. Tufan’s contract at Hull runs for another 12 months.

Hornets set to complete signing

Watford are set to sign Udinese defender Antonio Tikvic, according to reports. The Croatia Under-21 international is said to have been training with the club this week, at London Colney. A deal has not yet been confirmed, but it’s reported that Tikvic will complete a move. The left-footed centre-back signed for Bayern Munich II in 2022. He has represented Udinese once.

And also cash in on midfielder

Watford are also reportedly set for a big player sale. Canada international Ismael Kone is said to be on his way to Marseille, for £15m. The Vicarage Road club signed Kone, 22, from Montreal in December 2022. He cost the Hornets £4m and has made 59 appearances in total, scoring four goals last season. Kone is away at the Copa America currently and there have been links to Roma and West Ham, but it looks like the Ligue 1 club will prise him away from Watford.
